If I could give just one piece of advice, it would be “pay attention to the words”. This is true when we have conversations with others. Quite often we don’t listen carefully to the words others are using during a conversation and then end up attaching meaning that the teller never meant. So while this is important in interpersonal conversations, it is much more important when reading and understanding the Bible. The words used it Scriptures are not incidental, or random. The words are important and we must be attentive to the words.
